We had a great time at the Woodfair this weekend, set in the beautiful Sussex estate of Bentley, near Lewes. A picnic in the gardens, shared with peacocks and the last of the late summer blooms, the garden has a formal layout but with informal planting which works beautifully.  The sun was smiling for us, highlighting the shadows of the Yew hedges and picking up the spectacular climbers on the old walls. It was also a chance to check out some top quality bespoke Oak pergolas and a range of decking and fencing. The brilliant living Willow tunnels provided the perfect natural children’s play area. We also saw some pink Cyclamen popping up in the wilder wooded sections which brought wonderful colour to the shaded green woodland. We would highly recommend a visit in 2013, particularly if you’re looking to get handmade garden furniture, a real personalised addition to your outside space.
