Waterfall Garden
Situated in the scenic heart of Mid Sussex, this rural property’s previously challenging sloping rear garden, now makes the most of its breath taking South Downs views. We installed wide generous paths, a stunning central waterfall feature, and a kitchen and flower garden with a small but perfect greenhouse. The garden now includes deep gently sloping planting beds and long stone steps connecting terrace and lawns, ideal spaces for children to play and gatherings. Wide, lush borders and clear pathways invite exploration, while benches and a spacious entertaining terrace make this garden ideal for relaxation and socialising to be used and viewed throughout the day. A very beautiful space, particularly when view through the sights and sound of the waterfall.
Expertly designed by award-winning Acres Wild Landscape and Garden Design, we were thrilled to be the contractors to build this project, Using reclaimed Yorkstone, we built crazy paving terraces and pathways and elegant Yorkstone steps and paving stones that lead through the garden. The centrepiece is a magnificent waterfall feature, built with huge Purbeck boulders that were craned into place. Overlooking the views beyond, the waterfall’s sound and sight create a tranquil immersion in nature. It has also become a haven for wildlife, with dragonflies already flocking to the water. The client, a passionate plantswoman, is designing her own planting plan to fill the expansive borders. We can’t wait to revisit to see her vision and the planting establish over the years.
