Rural Retreat
This project involved the renovation of a charming internal archway courtyard, a sun-soaked swimming pool terrace, and a spacious rear garden terrace. This work marks the first phase of many, including potential plans for the installation of a large pond and a fireside sundowner area. It was wonderful to recently re-visit the garden three years on from the original installation to see how the planting has flourished and matured. We’re excited to revisit for the next phase and witness the full transformation of this beautiful landscape.
Designed by Bo Cook Landscape and Garden Design, this garden provides a number of inviting spaces for entertaining and relaxing, set within an already stunning landscape. Bo expertly designed the courtyard to emphasise the beautiful archway between it and the landscape beyond. A striking circular yorkstone feature allows for a smooth transition between the courtyard, the rear garden and the poolside terrace. The hardscape is softened by vibrant, yet sensitive perennial planting throughout which echoe the rural environment in which the property is nestled. The new yorkstone used for the poolside terrace perfectly complements the newly developed outbuilding from which a stunning shade bringing oak pergola extends. The reclaimed yorkstone and brick paver paths and feature panels harmonise with the property’s traditional aesthetic, adding timeless charm to the overall design. It truly is a beautiful project.
